Texaa received the Living Heritage Company award

At the end of 2023, Texaa received the Living Heritage Company award. Given by the French National Institute of Crafts, this distinction is very important to us because it recognises how highly technical our expertise is, and pays tribute to our demanding focus on excellence and innovation that we have maintained for more than 40 years in our workshop in southwest France. We are thrilled to include in this success all our present and past employees, our customers and specifiers, and all our stakeholders.

 

Living heritage

Texaa’s heritage is above all our expertise and our team. It is a precious and living heritage! Our largely craft-based production takes place entirely in our workshop outside Bordeaux, using machines that are often unique.
Since Texaa was founded, we have always striven to consolidate and enrich this heritage, and to develop it rigorously by training our people internally and through a continuous quest for improvement. Quality and innovation are two key objectives, which have built Texaa’s reputation, and which today were decisive in our receiving this award. 

A developing heritage

We have always striven to offer continuously improved solutions: Texaa holds several patents and pioneered the technique of using isolated objects in spaces to improve the acoustics. This practice has since become an architectural standard. In our workshop and engineering department, we are keen to experiment, enquire, listen and observe with an open mind. Sometimes this leads to new products like our soundproofing curtains last year. Sometimes the innovation remains invisible: none of the components in our acoustic panels today existed five years ago.
However, we also have to take into account modern challenges. We must adapt to the new ways in which buildings are being used, and of course meet environmental demands. For many years, we have worked to reduce the carbon footprints of our products by increasing the proportion of recycled or biosourced components, as well as offering solutions that enable their reuse.

Our culture: doing things properly

At the beginning, there is an idea: knitting a beautiful fabric with a proprietary process and using its appearance and durability to cover and house acoustic or other technical devices for architectural use. Then, there is an approach that has become a business culture: manufacturing to order products which last, and working with suppliers who share this goal, and who are not at the other end of the world. This is what Texaa does, and has always done, at its own scale with an overriding purpose, almost an obsession: to do things properly.

Joiners and upholsterers are the best skilled to install our products easily. We work regularly with some professionals, who we can recommend. If you have a tradesperson, who you trust, we can support him/her. You can find our installation instructions and tips here.

Can I have an appointment?

Lead times

Our products are manufactured to order. Our standard manufacturing time is 3 weeks for most of our products. Non-standard products take from 5 weeks. We also perform miracles on a regular basis! Please feel free to contact us.
