As an independent company dedicated to creating acoustic solutions for architecture, Texaa has always considered its expertise to be a valuable asset and strives to preserve it through its teams, allocated resources and focus on innovation. All Texaa products are manufactured in our workshop near Bordeaux.
In October 2023, Texaa was awarded the Living Heritage Company label, created to “honour companies that demonstrate excellence in manufacturing and craftsmanship.” Awarded for a period of five years, this label is a mark of recognition of the French State distinguishing companies for their ability to “reconcile innovation and tradition, expertise and creativity, heritage and the future, local and global dimensions.”
This label is a source of pride for us, as it rewards our teams of men and women who perpetuate this expertise using techniques and machines (particularly for knitting) that are often unique. Innovation and the constant search for new solutions are also part of how we cultivate this heritage. Holder of several patents, Texaa has, for example, pioneered the use of single isolated objects to improve acoustics, a technique that has become standard practice in the world of architecture.
Designed by the architects Arsène-Henry & Triaud, the building in which our teams work has been extended to accommodate the company’s growth. Flanked on one side by the sales and support departments and on the other by R&D and the reverberation chamber, the large central section is occupied by the workshop.
One section is dedicated to Aeria textiles: first warping to purify the yarns, then knitting using a process unique to the company. This is followed by washing, dyeing and finishing, carried out by external service providers. Every linear meter of textile is checked and purified.
The other part of the workshop brings together operations related to the manufacture of acoustic solutions and their covering: production of supports and frames, assembly with acoustic absorbers, sheathing, sewing of closures or braids, fittings.
Texaa has always maintained the craftsman-like dimension of its business. All orders are unique and treated as such: each one is made to order and successively (usually only one project is handled at a time). Product quality and work ergonomics are the two guiding principles behind the workshop’s organization.
It has always been a deliberate decision on our part to implement a local, insourced manufacturing process so that we can make exactly the products we want. Each component is checked individually at every stage. Even the packaging is meticulously designed to suit the shape of each product and its future use.
Yes, our products are fire-resistant and comply with regulations governing public-access buildings.
Texaa solutions are tested for reaction to fire in accordance with international standards. Fire reaction test reports (fire certificates) are available upon request to support specification.
