Work spaces

Offices and open plan work spaces

The quality of work done in shared office spaces depends mainly on acoustic comfort. This is especially true, when the occupants’ activities are different, for example in coworking spaces. While insulation from outside noise is usually adequate, the aim is more to reduce the propagation of sounds inside the open plan area and address reverberation around the occupants. By focusing on sub-areas with specific functions, Texaa’s solutions for furniture and fittings, partitions and panels make it possible to alter the whole volume’s background noise or create quiet areas and thereby change the overall ambience. The shapes and colours of these solutions also contribute to the occupants’ visual comfort.

Meeting rooms

A room’s acoustics is an important factor that can determine the success of meetings held in it. A sense of privacy must be achieved so that people feel free to express themselves, and reverberation has to be controlled to reduce fatigue and misunderstandings. This is a challenge in itself in rooms that are often made of glass partitions, bare walls or white screens that generate wall-to-wall effects. For all these challenges, Texaa’s range offers a variety of solutions for use on ceilings or walls, or to upholster furniture and fittings. A much-recognised way to handle reverberation from glazed surfaces is to hang blinds or effective curtains in front of them, which also cut out light for projection purposes and can even contribute to regulating temperatures in the room.
